The Front Royal Golf Club
where history runs deep

Boating, Hiking, Fishing and Golf

Founded in 1938, the Front Royal Golf Club is one of Virginia’s oldest continuously operating golf courses.

Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and under the direction of William E. Carson, the course features 9 holes of scenic golf with dual tee boxes, creating a true 18 hole feel.

Our History

Endless Possibilities

The course sits on the Shenandoah River, and features a boat ramp as well as 4 holes ON the river; more than any other course in Virginia. The challenges of the course come from the old Scottish links-style feel, which values accuracy over length. The boat ramp sits on the deepest part of the Shenandoah River, making it a great location for fishing and boating. The breathtaking scenery is an incredible place for pictures, or just to take a walk. The current clubhouse was built in 1998 to replace the original, which was lost in the flood of 1996. It features a snack bar, commercial kitchen, and banquet hall, which is available for rentals.

We are now under the new management of VA Golf LLC, and are open 7 days a week, from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays and 7am to 8pm weekends.

The breathtaking scenery is an incredible place for golf, pictures, boating, or just to take a walk.
